No selections or results published yet. Results will use a flat 1-unit win stake per selection at the published odds. Units are a reporting measure, independent of the amount anyone chooses to stake. A winner at decimal odds of 3.50 returns 3.5 units, including the stake, for a profit of +2.5 units. A losing selection records −1 unit. Scratches will be shown as refunds; any deductions will be recorded. Strike rate and ROI will appear once there are settled selections.

The weekly archive begins with our first published card.

Each card will show the horse, runner number, track, race number and time, published price, price source, publication timestamp, finishing position, return in units and net profit or loss in units.

The character behind the name

Meet Albert.
Plenty of character.

A lovable rogue.
A big character.

Albert is a fictional character from Yorkshire, in the North of England, inspired by the old tradition of the bookie’s runner. A big character with a love of racing, he always had a pick—or two—for anyone willing to listen.

Picture a Saturday afternoon in the pub: racing on the telly, a lively discussion and Albert ready with his pick—or picks—of the day. Whether anyone asked for them is another matter.

Honest Albert’s brings that spirit to Australian racing: a love of the sport, a few considered selections and plenty to talk about on a Saturday.

The name comes with a wink. The homework and the results record are taken seriously: we show what we selected and what happened next.

Can I buy tips today?

No. Our testing phase is free. If we introduce a paid service later, we’ll explain the price, what’s included and the terms well in advance. Joining will always be your choice.

Will there be tips every Saturday?

Only when selections meet the method and price criteria. There may be fewer than six, or none at all.

Do the tips guarantee a profit?

No. Racing is uncertain and any selection can lose. This site provides analysis, not guaranteed returns.
